Just now I had trouble connecting my Kobo Aura e-reader to my Ubuntu laptop. It was a while ago since I last tried it; the e-reader was gathering dust in my bookcloset. But I remembered this also happened a year ago and that the solution wasn’t that hard.

The issue

The kobo e-reader didn’t recongnize my Ubuntu laptop when I plugged in a cable between the two devices. It was just charging

The solution

Plugging in the USB connector to a non-powered port solved the issue for me. Now my e-reader is able to connect to the computer.
